We take your privacy seriously and handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.
What we collect
- When you run a free listing check: your email address and the listing link, the three signals we read off it, which of you the check is for if you choose to tell us, and how you arrived here — the campaign tags on the link you clicked and the referring site — so we can see which content brings buyers. A finished check can be reopened from its link; that link shows the property and the signals and never your email address. If you go on to buy a report, the order is joined to the check it came from.
- When you buy a report: your name, email address, and the property listing link or address you give us at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.
- When you upload documents with an order: the files you choose to send us — a contract of sale, an inspection or strata report, a price guide — stored against your order number so the team preparing your report can read them. Uploading is optional and your report is prepared either way.
- When you email us: whatever you choose to include, and your email address so we can reply.
- When you visit the site: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages viewed) held briefly by our hosting provider for security and reliability. The analytics and advertising tags we run, and how to opt out, are listed under Cookies & tracking below.
Why we collect it
- To build and deliver the Property Decision Report you ordered, and to answer your questions about it.
- To take payment and issue receipts (via Stripe).
- To keep the site secure and working.
- To let you know about The Buyers Grail if you've asked us to — you can opt out at any time.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your property search with the selling agent, the vendor, or anyone else.
Who we share it with
Only the providers we need to run the service, each of whom handles data under their own privacy terms: Stripe (payments), Netlify (website hosting), Google Workspace (email), and — for measuring our own advertising, as described under Cookies below — Google (Analytics and Ads) and Meta (hashed conversion data only). Some of these providers store data outside Australia. We do not otherwise disclose personal information unless required by law.
How long we keep it
Order records and the report we produced for you are kept so we can honour any follow-up questions and meet our own record-keeping obligations. Documents you upload with an order are deleted automatically 90 days after you send them; you can also remove any of them yourself from your order confirmation page while they are still there. You can ask us to delete your personal information at any time; we'll do so unless we're legally required to retain it.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or raise a concern about how we've handled it, by emailing howdy@thebuyersgrail.com. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Cookies & tracking
Besides the essentials (like remembering which state you selected), this site uses analytics and advertising tools so we can see which pages and campaigns actually help buyers find us:
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymous page and event analytics.
- Google Ads — measures whether a Google ad led to an order. If you arrived from an ad, a hashed (unreadable) version of your email may be used to confirm the conversion.
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel and Conversions API — measures whether a Meta ad led to an order. Purchase confirmations are also sent server-side with hashed identifiers.
None of this changes what the report costs or contains, and we never share your property search with agents or vendors. You can opt out at any time — the site works identically without these cookies:

Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
